"There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling."

Services
Serendipity Garden Design offers landscape design, installation of landscapes, maintenance, and most importantly, we teach our clients to care for their own gardens. We provide a hands-on experience in the process, collaborating with the client, to create your own unique space. We put particular importance on designing a garden that is drought-tolerant, hardy, low-maintenance, and sustainable.
Consultation
For any new client, the first consultation is free. This consultation is on-site and begins with a series of questions to determine your needs and desires. For those who are looking for ideas and want more comprehensive advice rather than a full design plan, further consultations are billed at an hourly rate, quoted during the first meeting. If its decided that a design and master plan or planting plan is needed, a written proposal will be given to you within 3 days.
Design
The goal of a landscape design is to create an outdoor living space that is beautiful, sustainable, and satisfies the needs of the client. Following a thorough site survey and analysis, we begin the collaborative design process. Serendipity Garden Design will create for you a beautiful outdoor space, no matter what your budget. We use mostly native, non-invasive and drought-tolerant plantings for sustainability of the gardenscape, and offer advice on solar lighting and rain barrels to help our Earth. A scaled design plan is created which is easy to understand, and includes specific material use and plant names and photos.
Installation
Serendipity Garden Design can implement most any garden project including patios, paths, water features, tree and shrub plantings, low-maintenance perennial gardens, container gardens, rooftop deck gardens, rain gardens, and meditation gardens. With our expertise in all phases of landscape implementation and project management, and our committment to quality craftsmanship, we are able to successfully see a project from initial concept design right through to implementation. We manage all aspects of the project, using pre-approved local contractors and craftspeople to build different aspects of the landscape.
Garden Renewal
Sometimes a garden needs a fresh look and some simple rejuvenation. We can give new life to older, overgrown gardens through thoughtful pruning and removal of diseased or damaged plants, and adding more appropriate plantings to your space.
Maintenance
Once a garden has been installed, we will walk the client through it to answer any questions and provide a care instruction sheet. We also provide affordable regular maintenance programs, bi-monthly, monthly, or quarterly, with extra emphasis on spring and fall care. With proper management, we can ensure your garden will remain healthy and beautiful year after year.
Care Instruction Booklet
Because many clients do not know much about landscape plants and their care, in addition to maintenance, we can provide, for an additional fee, a detailed reference booklet of care instructions designed for the client’s space, with photos of the plants and specific care instructions to ensure that all questions are answered on maintenance and care.
Ongoing Support to Existing Clients
We offer free phone and email support to our existing clients, available whenever a question arises about their garden space or plantings, for the life of their garden. We also publish a quarterly newsletter full of useful tips and information.
Warranty
Because a new garden needs proper care and maintenance, Serendipity Garden Design will only replace defective or diseased plantings within the first 60 days after installation, when problems will likely show up. All of the plants and materials we use come from high-quality nurseries and providers, but on occasion a plant will have an existing problem that we don’t see right away. Hardscaping (patios, steps, walls, and walkways) is typically given a one-year warranty free from defects of material or workmanship.
